Doubled time signatures

• Jul 15, 2019 - 03:32

I'm wondering what caused the doubled time signature in m. 15 of the attached file, and how I can go about fixing it. I've tried deleting and re-entering the time signature but it always ends up doubled.

I've seen doubled time signatures in Continuous View before, but this is the first time I've encountered it in Page View.

The file was created in MuseScore 2 and was recently upgraded to MuseScore 3. I'm currently running version 3.2.3.7635 and I've also tried the most recent nightly (MuseScoreNightly-2019-07-13-1027-master-cc654b1-x86_64) and the problem persists.

In Continuous View it seems to occur in places where there would be a system break in Page View, and the time signature would naturally be displayed twice, once at the end of the previous system and one at the start of the measure with the signature change. But in this case it's happening in the middle of a system, not at a break.

Yes, some previous 3.x builds had a bug that could cause this. It's fixed now so you won't see it happen any more with new scores, but already messed files remained messed up. Easy to fix though: Format / Style / Page, turn off courtesy time signatures, save, reload, then you can turn them back on.
