Cannot select/delete dynamics annotation

I have a guitar score with an annotation that I cannot remove ...
See attached in bar no. 23 "piu cresc".
The score has also a hidden tab (defined as instrument not as linked staff). If I turn it on, the mystery annotation ends up at bar 32 on the tab.
Can anyone figure out what's going on?

It's been dragged off the page
Change to continuous view, locate it and select it, reset its position, switch back to page mode
And then find that it really belongs to measure 40 on the 2nd page
