Combining the grand staff with a single staff in a single score
I have an arrangement of a piano piece, but wish to remove a small section of blank bars (grand staff) and insert a section with just a single staff and chord symbols. How do I do this?

use HIDE EMPTY STAVES https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/staff-part-properties#staff-types
but for a double stave like piano, you must create 2 differents staves 1 for right hand , the other for left hand, you create 2 pianos and you delete on each the upper or the lower stave, after you copy and past your 2 staves of the original piano on these next half piano, and then HIDE EMPTY STAVE works when the left hand stave is empty. You must use breaks and spacers to put the changements on a new ligne

2 pianos are not necessary. Format -> Style.-> Score, then putting a check mark in 'Hide empty staves within systems' hides empty staves on a single piano, too.

Thanks both of you, I’ll have a look at it all soon, and see whether I can work it out.

The “hide empty staves” thing worked - thanks again.
