One Measure Per System

• Apr 26, 2024 - 02:25

Hi there,

I'm trying to make an arrangement of "Impromptu in Gb Major" by Franz Schubert, and I'm having trouble getting more than one measure on each system. I've tried the spacers, I've tried scaling down the size of the measure, and I even tried the { button, but none of these methods have worked. Is there anything that can be done?

Use the Group Measures tool on the Layout palette. (It's apparently called something like "Keep on same system" in some versions of MuS4?) It's the highlit button in the screenshot below.

FYI: for future reference, it's always best to attach a score rather than a screenshot. Very hard to actually figure out what most problems are from a screenshot.

Actually, it "works" if the "group"ed measures don't fit. It's just unreadable. I once fit 10 measures of 32nds on a row. Looked like one of those "black score" things. :-)

On OP's example, two measures of sextuplets are readable on a single system, using the Letter paper width. Septuplets or octuplets would not be, I think.
