Dashboard Not Updating

I thought it was weird when everyone I followed suddenly stopped updating back in August, but it turns out that it was just my dashboard that wasn't updating. It still isn't. I looked at the notification settings and all of the boxes are checked, so things should be appearing, but they aren't. Help??
