Noteheads not changing
How exactly do I change the notehead in MuseScore? I need to change a black notehead to a white one, I try to click on the white notehead in the palette and dragging it to the notehead I want to change. Nothing happens.

Where do you see a white notehead in the palette? Would be impossible to see, on a white background...
In case you want to turn the head of a quarter note (or shorter) into that of a half note, use the Inspector and Note Head Type.
In case you want to turn a quarter note into a half note though, i.e. change its duration, use the half note icon from the note input toolbar
