MacOS Crashing Seemingly Randomly

• Jan 26, 2020 - 21:18

I have had a couple of examples, but there does not appear to be any consistency to it. I was working on this chart when it crashed (like an idiot I had not saved it in a while).

The attachment is the file that was saved for restoration on reopen (and has a lot of my work!) when Musescore crashed. However, Musescore said it cannot open this recovery file (if someone could resolve this I would be appreciative!). I don't know if that helps debug the crash.

Musescore 3.4.1.25011 REV OS: macOS 10.15, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.4.1.25011, revision: 20414b2

Thanks!

So it crashed on me again this morning. Since I was saving more frequently, I could repeat the steps before the crash verbatim - no crash. Each time it crashes, I will try to go back and repeat the steps, but so far it does not seem triggered by a consistent event.

I have still been getting random crashes in MacOS, but this file crashes Musescore 100% of the time on save (make one change, save, crash) and actually crashes Musescore even if it is just sitting there open with no activity (and no changes) for 5-10 minutes.

I am going to see if I can recover this file from my backups, but there is a lot of work in this one :-(. None of the saved backups in Library -> Application Support -> Musescore -> Musescore 3 work either (most are empty) and Musescore can't open the .temp file that is in the directory where the score is.
