V3.4.2 Hangs On First Startup
W10, V3.4.2, 64 bit
MuseScore seems to install OK. Then, when starting it for the first time, it tries to install some other things (what I don't know). I get the Windows Installer popup saying "Preparing to install". Then it hangs. The "Cancel" button doesn't work. I have to restart the machine to clear the condition.

Try starting MuseScore by double-clicking a score, if that works in Edit > Preferences > General disable 'Show start center'. if it doesn't work try reverting to factors settings, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings#Via_command…

Thanks for your suggestion.
I found the problem. I have a Yamaha THR-10C amplifier attached to my computer. It appears the device driver was partially corrupted. Not enough to be audible, but something MuseScore detected. I watched the startup messages closely and for a brief instant the words "Yamaha Steinberg driver" were displayed before the Windows Installer popup became visible. I took a chance that MuseScore was complaining about the driver. So, I uninstalled it & installed the latest version from Steinberg's web site. Success.
As a warning: I tried "Update Driver" from W10's Device Manager & it said that the current driver was the most recent (i.e., "up to date"). I knew that to be false, based on the version # I had seen on Steinberg's web site. So, I manually did an uninstall, followed by a download & install directly from Steinberg. Moral: don't necessarily trust W10's Device Manager.
