Velocity change on single note
Per https://musescore.org/en/node/290616, I'm attempting to add a diminuendo to a single note by changing it to a negative velocity in the Inspector. The note at issue is Strings, treble staff, bar 12 (C5). I've set the velocity change to a minus number, but do not hear any diminuendo.

Problem 1: setting a negative velocity does not produce a gradual diminuendo effect.
Problem 2: you applied the negative velocity only to the treble clef stave of the Strings part.
See the attached score, which uses a dim. hairpin to achieve a gradual reduction of volume over a single note. You can make hairpins invisible if you don't want them to show, but then how does the performer know about the dim.?

Thank you, Daniel! I realize, though, that I misstated my question and supplied the wrong file. I had actually intended to ask how to produce a gradual diminuendo on a single note when more than one note is present (i.e. a chord). Or, if that's not possible, how to produce a diminuendo on a single voice (e.g. voice 1), without affecting other voices in the same staff. (I tried applying a hairpin to a single voice but that didn't work.)
Perhaps the only solution is to add another staff for the voice for which I want more dynamic control?
(The performer doesn't matter; this particular score is for playback only.)
Sorry for not being more clear with my question the first time.

I think so. You could even make that extra staff hidden (to notate and play notes for Voice 1 only). And on the visible staff you could uncheck "Play" for all the notes in Voice 1, so that only Voice 2 is played by the visible staff.
