Spurious blank space appears above note pallet and title bar after accessing preferences.
After popping in to Preferences...I/O to reset MIDI and audio devices, then hitting OK to close the Preference window, a bunch of blank space will occasionally appear above the note pallet and title bar. To get rid of it, I have to go right back into preferences, and select OK again. Rarely, but more than once, even more blank space will appear and I'll have to go into Preferences and exit again to get rid of it.
It seems to happen when I need to restart the audio devices, because Musescore has switched to Built-in Output (though it shows HDMI in the I/O tab despite Musescore playing through the built-in speaker.) which tends to happen when I leave Musescore open, but turn off my TV, though I haven't yet isolated that.
OS: macOS High Sierra (10.13), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.4.2.25137, revision: 148e43f, This program uses Qt version 5.9.8

I have also seen this after poking about in preferences. Smoking gun?

I've actually seen it below the menu bar in connection with #305134: MS 3.5 alpha crash on chordsymbol playback
So that effect is not specific to 3.5 Alpha?

I've seen it playing with workspace and/or preferences, never really sure of the trigger, but definitely not just in 3.5 alpha - in release builds of 3.42 and/or earlier.
