Square Brackets

Would it be possible to add square brackets to the 'accidentals' palette?

Square brackets are often used instead of parentheses for editorially-inserted material in urtext editions because that is the standard usage in text typography. In text, authors use parentheses often enough in their original work that they cannot be used clearly to denote editor's or translator's comments or corrections, so square brackets are used instead. In music, parentheses have traditionally been used for 'optional' or questionable accidentals, placed over the note, especially in music transcribed from neumes or mensural notation.

As an editor, I would prefer being able to use square brackets in the score to surround notes I've changed for some particular reason, but this option is not (to my knowledge) currently available.
