Music GCSE composition
Hello :)
I'm doing my music composition for GCSE and I am having technical
difficulties with MuseScore. On my apple MacBook when I try to listen over my
composition piece my speakers make a robotic sound, as it really interferes
with my MuseScore work. However I know it has nothing to do with my actual
laptop as I can play music, go on youtube etc fine and it will play crystal
clear but when on MuseScore it is not.I hope you can help me ASAP because I
need to complete my pieces before the 20th April :). Although sometimes it doesn't make a crackling sound but most of the time it does could you help?

Welcome Nadeenybay, you can work around it by installing a different sound fonts:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/soundfonts
Try https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings-0
Then take a look here: https://musescore.org/en/node/96811
and check the synthesizer settings
Try lowering the volume within MuseScore (i.e. adjust the Play Panel or Synthesiser volume, not your system volume). Unlike when you listen to a recording of a song, MuseScore actually generates audio, so if the volume is set too high it can cause clipping, which results in a distorted sound could be described as "robotic". Make sure MuseScore's volume is never over about 75% (though the actual maximum will depend on the piece) and increase your system volume if it's too quiet.
