Adding tied notes after repeats

• May 6, 2016 - 08:02

How can I add a tied note after a second repeat bar? The attached file will give more information. If I want that the first note in the 3rd measure is tied to the last note in the first, how could I do this? I could do it in the 2nd measure, but not the 3rd.

Here the file with a tied note: TieNoProblem_.mscz

EDIT: how to do? I presume you desire the showed tie AND the playback? So:

1) In the second measure, add a B (eg, quarter note, fourth beat) in another voice, II eg.
2) In Inspector, untick "Play" this added B
3) Press "+" for adding a tie
4) Make invisible this B Voice 2(note head and stem)
5) Resize the tie (double-clic for edit, select left handle and decrease the length with right arrow)
Better result if you increase in Inspector the value of Leading space in Segment section.

That's all :)

Hi all,

Please see the attached file for an example of how to fix tie problems in musescore, not just for repeat signs (and not just at the end of a volta, but also the beginning), and also for coda's.

If it can consistently be fixed with this workaround, then it must also be possible to do this in code -- such that it is not at the expense of a voice and all the extra work of making notes, stems and flags invisible and set the note to no-play. Even just putting this workaround in code with an 'extra voice that is invisible to the user' would do nicely :-)

cheers,

Jack
