Bar Lines
I'm working on a piece where C above middle C is written in the bass line but doesn't use the 8va marking. The program won't allow me to write higher than G above middle C on the bass line and vice versa on the treble line. Any suggestions?

Drop the mouse and use your keyboard. Select a note and press arrow up or arrow down to move the note, Ctrl+Up/Down to move up down an octave. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input
enter as middle C, then press Ctrl+Up. Also you'll probably need more space between staves, so use a spacer https://musescore.org/en/handbook/breaks-and-spacers
