Bug - Error when I double click MuseScore music composition file on Windows XP Machine

• Jul 4, 2011 - 01:02

MuseScore v1.0 r 3996 JP version

It appears there is a bug when music composition file created in Windows Vista is opened with Windows XP.

Symptom:

I created a short music composition (3KB size) in Windows Vista SP2.

With a different machine (Windows XP) when I double clicked that music composition, I get the following error message:

"”Error reading file P06DFB~1.MSC at line 1 Column 1: error occurred while parsing element"

However when I first open MuseScore program (Windows XP), click on file, open and select that same music composition file, it opens properly. Using Windows Vista machine, there is no problem.

On my Windows XP machine, I have unistalled MuseScore and re-installed and tried double clicking the same file, but I get the same error.

I have selected other music composition using XP machine, but I still get the same error message.

My music composition files do indeed have the correct extension of .MSCZ.

I also do have other files with .MSCZ, (with comma at the end) however result is the sames with these also.

Since problem does not occurr using Windows vista, this most likely could be a bug.
