MIDI Repeats question

I am a relatively new user to MuseScore and I am taking public domain hymns, breaking them apart for general, simple choir. I would love to use the MIDI "save" feature to record practice disks for each choir member. But whenever MS plays my works, it does not acknowledge any repeats or codas - so it plays the 1. repeat measure directly to the 2. repeat measure, all the way to the end - straight through the song as I have it written. Is this normal?

Make sure the "repeat" feature is enabled in the toolbar (beside the play button on the right). Click on it (when not playing the score) to enable it.
