Col Legno

Is it possible for the strings (violin, viola, etc.) to be able to play Col Legno? There's a song I'm writing out that has col legno in it, but there's no actual col legno. For the time being I'm using pizzicato and it sounds fine, but col legno would be appreciated! Thanks!

What do you mean "actual col legno"? Ther primary purpose of MsueScore is to create notation, so if it appears in your printed score, then it is by definition an "actual col legno". But if you are referring to the playback function, this is not a standard sound defined by General MIDI, so you would have to find a special purpose soundfont that provided that sound.

My work around for col legno is to use the shamisen. It's in the general font, scroll down and you'll find it near the Koto and Kalimba, after the atmosphere/goblin stuff.

It's not completely right, but it's better than nothing. And if you do find a col legno, replace that instrument - then if you upload it, it will sound closeish to what you want.
