Phantom Dynamic Changes

• Jul 25, 2016 - 17:53

Per your request, I am posting my unfinished score of the Chopin Ballade 1 in G Minor. I am attempting to add a dynamic hairpin to measure 64 and have it affect only that measure, but for some reason it affects several measures beforehand. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

You already have a diminuendo in measure 62 & 63, and neither has a dynamic marking afterwards, nor is the velocity change for either of those hairpins explicitly set in the Inspector. So as it is, MuseScore is already having to guess what you want to happen in measures 62 and 63. It shouldn't be surprising that changing the contents of measure 64 might change the guess MuseScore makes for measures 62 and 63. If you explain in more detail what change you are making in measure 64, we can probably tell you exactly why MuseScore is doing what it is doing. But in general, you need to either supply and end dynamic or else give an explicit velocity change in the Inspector for all hairpins if you want a specific playback effect.
