The swing feature currently does not swing dotted quarter notes, but only quarter notes tied to eighth notes. Could the swing playback be applied to both types of notes? Also, would it be possible to have MuseScore save the playback style (straight, swing, etc.) in the MuseScore filetypes it saves?

As a first result of Google Summer of Code 2014, shredpub has implemented swing playback as a style option. He is now working on a text option to be able to change swing during the score. The style option is available in f4383446ce
As far as I can tell dotted quarter are swung.
