a little more explanation.
In the handbook under Volta, it would be helpful to specify that there must be a repeat sign for it to go back to, even if it goes back to the beginning of the score, otherwise it will not play correctly.
Also under Repeats, specify that only one type of repeat is allowed in any measure (ie. you can't put a D.C. on the same measure as a repeat sign). And that repeats are skipped and final endings taken as is standard after a textual repeat.
I think this would help people understand how to use these items better.

I am reluctant to list the work-arounds for these bugs in the handbook since they are suboptimal hacks. My guess is correct notation is more important for most people than correct playback of repeats.

I can see your point, particularly with the limitation of only allowing one repeat per measure. Is there a fix in the works for this?
I would have to disagree with you, though on the second point. I'm pretty sure that there are more than just a few people who would use this program to get a "music minus one" type of practice. To my admittedly limited knowledge, musescore is the best freeware program available for this, even though this function may not be its primary focus. Details such as correct playback of repeats, et al would certainly be helpful to that group of users.

To me, correct notation, correct playback, and correct (MIDI/MusicXML/direct) import/export are equal in importance. Neither one can suffer.
In fact, nearly all my testing so far has to do with playback and import, because without good enough playback, there is little incentive for me to switch...
