Hi Miguel,
Thanks for pointing to this pt-br handbook. Since MuseScore has a nice handbook system on musescore.org itself, we are looking for pt-br translators to translate the official english handbook. The translation can be done in the website and the resulting pdf file will be included in the MuseScore software. Would you be interested in helping us out? Or perhaps you know someone who is willing to translate?
Keeping the translation online will be beneficial to the pt & pt-br MuseScore users for several reasons:
- users can search online through the handbook
- the handbook can easily be updated by tracking the changes in the English one
- the handbook will be included as pdf in the MuseScore software
Hi!
I'm interested in contribute with the translation of MuseScore's handbook.
How can I do that?
Thanks
Vítor

Hi vitor,
You have now all the permissions to translate the website content: menu pages & handbook pages.
You start your way on the English website and you'll find for each page a translate tab on which you'll find a link to add or edit the brazilian portuguese translation.
Regarding the handbook there are two things to do:
- translate the manual and keep in mind that the translated content between the double square brackets should be the titles you for the actual handbook pages.
- translate the English handbook by stepping through the outline and adding or editing the portuguese translation.
If you have more question, don't hesitate to ask.

Is there any diference between the first and the second link you indicated (manual and handbook)?
In reply to pt-br translation by ..vitor..
The first link 'manual" is a link to the current pt-br manual. The second link is a link to the english handbook.

OK.
I've translated the Screenshot page, but I can't translate the title in the portuguese initial page: http://www.musescore.org/pt-br

Let me know when you have most of the handbook pages translated so I can create the PDF.
In reply to Screenshot page translated by ..vitor..
The menu title is translated now. You still can't do it yourself since it needs a manual intervention by the superuser.

Two more pages translated: Development and Donate. Please change their titles.
I made a mistake. Instead of translate the Donate page into a new page in portuguese, I edited the english version and translated it to portuguese. But I've already corrected this. Sorry!
I think there is no more pages in the website to be translated to portuguese. Now I will update some pages and then begin with the handbook.

It's almost finished.
Now I will make a review.
When ready I say for you to publish the pdf.
In reply to almost finished by ..vitor..
Hi Vitor,
While making your review, you can also make use of the translator assignments link in the administer menu. Choose Português brasileiro and you should be able to see the status of all the pages. You'll notice that a few handbook pages have been updated in the meantime (by David and others).
Great work!

Can I create pages to publish below the teaser at the home page?
I would like to translate these two forum topics:

Hi Vitor,
There is no workflow in place to translate forum topics. However, in order to translate, dig up the source code (CTRL-U) in the browser and paste it in a new forum topic. Once made, let me know by leaving a forum post and I shall feature it on the front page.

Please, make the pdf file.
Thanks

The PDF file is available for review:

The pages in the "Notation" section for English are in alphabetical order. You may want to consider alphabetizing the pages in the "Notação" section of the Brazilian handbook so that they are easy to find.
In reply to The PDF file is available for by David Bolton
Pages in "Notação" are now in alphabetical order.
I will now revise and conclude the translation of the software.
After that I will change the handbook screenshots to screenshots in portuguese, but if you want you can release the pdf now.

I had to make changes, some very important.
The pdf file is updated automatically?
In reply to I had to make changes, some by ..vitor..
The pdf is not updated automatically, but now and then manually. The reference is the online handbook.
So you can keep on modifying the handbook as long as you want.

I had to make some changes in the online pt-br handbook due to changes in the software translation.
Can anyone update the pdf file?

Hi
I translated this topic
http://www.musescore.org/en/node/3169
but I don't know how to embed the YouTube video.
Can you help me?
A few months ago I did some very important corrections in the pt-br handbook, but the pdf file is still out-of-date.
How can I update it?
Thanks
In reply to Two questions by ..vitor..
I thnk you can't include video as a normal user. When you are done, the admin will put your post on pt-be frontpage and include the video.
Regarding PDF, David will pass by and generate the PDF.

Hi
I noticed that some links in pt-br interface point to pages in english or other interfaces.
For example, in page "http://musescore.org/pt-br/manual-pt-br/modo-de-reprodução" SoudFont links to "http://musescore.org/handbook/soundfont" instead of "http://musescore.org/pt-br/manual-pt-br/soundfont."
In "http://musescore.org/node/5046", legato links to Hungarian page "http://musescore.org/hu/k%C3%A9zik%C3%B6nyv/legato."
In reply to strange links by ..vitor..
Seems like the automatic linking functionality is mixing up translations. I'll look into it.
In reply to Looking into it by Thomas
Hello
There is some links in the pt-br handbook ( http://musescore.org/pt-br/manual ) that points to pages in other languages, although they are all translated into brazilian portuguese.
'Exportar' links to ca.
'Legato' links to hu.
And 'SoundFont' links to en.
How can we fix that?
Thanks
In reply to Hello There is some links in by ..vitor..
It's a flaw in the system. I emptied the cache and went back to http://musescore.org/pt-br/manual and it's fixed.
