MuseScore.org downtime on August 30th, 2011

Today, around 4 am UTC, MuseScore.org suffered a server issue. Quickly, it became clear that it was a pretty particular issue since people trying to log in on the website or who were logged in already did not succeed to get further. After analyzing the issue with lasconic, we found out that one of the hard disk partitions ran out of storage space.

We had to take down the server for a time to allocate more space to the full partition. This downtime lasted for at least 1,5 hours. Around 9 am UTC, the website was back up and running. We are still monitoring the server but it seems to be up and running and there was no data loss.

For the logs: the last downtime was from more than 1 year ago so musescore.org doing pretty well and keeps on growing!
