I would be very grateful if someone was able to fix this score.
The error reads: xml read error at line 296 column 42. A problem that seems to occur due to an ampersand. Many thanks in advance.

Extract the mscx from the mscz, e.g. by using Winzip, open the file and replace the & with &

Thanks. I've extracted the mscx but how do you open it. It tries to open in MS2.03, except that it won't due to the same problem I've described for the mscz file. Computer tech isn't my forte.

You could open it with any plain text editor, Notepad++ is pretty good

Thanks, jojo. This did the trick. Now I'm 'set up' to fix these issues myself, if they continue
to occur (provided the problem is an ampersand!.) Mark.
