Problem with grace notes.

• Sep 20, 2016 - 00:36

Hi.
I have a question about how to represent the grace note (bottom); as the image is in "vertical line" to "grace note" of the first voice.
My thought is to place another eighth note; second voice and hide it on and off; to represent.
That's right, is there another way?
That is, each grace note must be in a different voice and musescore the lower leaves change to another voice.

Thanks and regards.

Hi Kuwitt, thanks for the quick response.
Place them as chord as I've tried, but if you want to be true to the score must place them in two separate voices, perhaps not giving the other to use the trick to hide the note.
The problem is that the "grace notes" in chord act as a block.
It is the first time I see "grace notes" in two voices in a score and may not be current and solve hiding the note on which it depends.
Greetings and thank you.

Can you explain what it means for the grace notes in a chord to "act as a block". In what way do you expect them to act independently?

I would play the two grace notes in exactly the same way regardless if they are written as two independent "voices" or as a chord. Shouldn't I?

Or do you just aim at reproducing your source as exactly as possible? In this case your solution with a second voice main note that may be hidden (as it is identical to the main note in the first voice only the stem would need to be made invisible) is the only one I am aware of.
