When I downloaded MuseScore I created my first sheet music and it worked quite well. But now when I try to make a second one, the play-button and the buttons surrounding it is light gray and when i click Play Panel in Display, nothing happens.
Thank you for the picture. I filled the two boxes as shown but I couldn't pick any avi or device. Those boxes are empty, and they look clickable but nothing happens when I click them. Same with "choose portmidi input interface".

What version of MuseScore are you using and on which operating system?
1.1, on windows 7.
Can you check Edit -> Preferences -> I/O ? It should look like the attached picture.
