I just downloaded the MuseScore for Windows 7.

What i noticed right away is; theres no way to select just a single instrument and play it by itself.

It would be nice for developing concertos where you have multiple instruments.
You could just select that instrument and play it thru the measure by itself.
(Its hard to compose when instrument is on at the same time.)

Also when i brought up the "Play Panel" adjusting the tempo only works while MuseScore is running, when you save the file as .mid and run it in Windows media player it reverts to some slow tempo..

I'm not schooled in music notation , I'm learning on the fly, so the tempo thing might be all my own fault..

You can play a single instrument by checking the Solo button in the Display-> Mixer window

As for tempo, if you are trying to set a tempo for the piece, you do that by adding a Tempo Text, not by the Play panel.
