Not sure what you mean by "text toolbar" - there's a number of facilities related to text. Have you read the section on twxt in the Handbook? As for staccato, you can find that in the Articulations palette at the left of the screen.

Thanks for your answere to staccatissimo symbol. In page 46 in chapter 5 Text of the Handbook(07/27/2011) for Symbols and Special Characters, it says " You can use the Text Symbols to insert quarter notes, fractions, and other special symbols or other characters into your text. In th text toolbar, click in the keyboard icon to open the Test Symbols palette." I cannot find the text toolbar , the keyboard icon, or the Text Symbol palette. Thanks

Ah. This is something that appears at the *bottom* of the screen, only while you're actually entering/editing text (eg, staff text, etc). It's a pretty standard looking textbar, with controls to select the font, justification, etc. And there is indeed a little keyboard-shaped icon at the left of it. But to bring up the text symbols palette, you can also do this by simply pressing F2 - again, only while in text edit mode. Either way, you won'tbe able to miss the palette when it appears - it's a separate window that appears right on top of the main window, generally covering up whatever you are typing.
