Program crashes when writing triplets specific score

• Oct 7, 2016 - 19:27

In one of my files/scores whenever I try to insert a triplet (or any tuplet) the whole program crashes.
This occurs when I use the Ctrl+3 or select Insert>Tuplet>Triplet.

I can write triplets fine in my other scores, but this one I can not.

I'm using MuseScore 2.0.3 on Windows 7.

Also MuseScore 2.0.3 on Windows 7 here.
Tried with both having just the full measure rest, as well as the whole measure selected for m47 and m48. Both went perfectly fine.

What I do notice though, is that you have the navigator open. If I have that open on your score, it suffers from the sizing/scrollbar issue that slows down MuseScore quite a bit. Perhaps that's the reason of your lockup?

Could you try again having the navigator closed this time (F12 to toggle its visibility)

I turned off navigator and had the same issue. (I also didn't know the navigator caused slowing, thanks for that tip)

I copy and pasted the score into a new file and so far have not had any issues. So not a solution, but a work around that I'm ok with for now.

The problem on your score is the lack of time signature (nothing to do with the triplets). Hence a corruption in the part. And so, crash.
It may be fixed easily by deleting first the part, then add the time signature 4/4, and re-create the part. So, the repaired file: Jazz to 68b.mscz

But the problem is serious. I just understood what happens, and I can reproduce from scratch a corruption and so, a crash.
Report soon.
