Strange symbols in piano bass clef staff
In some of the chords in the bass clef staff of a little piano piece I wrote, certain individual notes are represented by X's and in a couple of cases little flags. Don't know how they got there. They seem to play normally. What are those and where did they come from? (I can delete them and replace with normal notes, by the way.)

What do you see in the Inspector (F8) when you select one of those odd notes?

That was the problem, all right. The "Head group" was either "cross" or "triangle" for those notes. Easy to switch them back. I wasn't aware of that option in the Inspector. Any idea how they could have come to be? I sure didn't do it myself in the inspector. Anyway, problem solved.

You might have done it using the Noteheads palette then. Or perhaps run a plugin that did the job.

That was practically the first thing I did when I first downloaded MuseScore, so that may have had something to do with it. Anyway, problem solved. Thanks.
If that doesn't answer your question, best to attach the score itself so we can see for ourselves.
