How to restore a deleted palette item?

• Dec 5, 2011 - 03:37

I accidentally deleted the fingering palette. How do I restore it? I've tried restoring to the factory default settings and also reinstalling, but that didn't work.

When I restored to factory settings, the palette is there, but after closing MuseScore and reopening it, the palette goes missing again. This is extremely annoying. None of us should have to wait for small bug fix updates or keep restoring to factory settings to get these problems resolved.

So how do I restore deleted palettes?

search for and delete a palette.xml in your personal settings area (in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MusE\MuseScore\ on Vista and Seven or C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\MusE\MuseScore\ in XP

Do you know what the file is called and where it's located on a Mac? Searching for "palette" in the Finder got me nowhere :-/

They REALLY need to make it harder to delete these.

Edit: Found the answer in the instructions for factory reset.

"The other preferences (palette, session...) are in ~/Library/Application Support/MusE/MuseScore/"
