Adding New Page

• Nov 15, 2016 - 23:09

I checked ALL OVER the forums and they all say... "To add a page you just insert another bar or page break" This does not work for me! It just squashes all the bars on that bar together... I am only half way through my song on the 2nd page and it will not go to a third... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I really want to finish this song! :(

On french MuseScore : you have 2 ways to look at your work, on the top, BY PAGE or in CONTINUE, if you choose Continue, you have no more page , only a ligne from the beginning to the end.

If, at the beginning of your work, when you have given the Title, you also choose the number of measures.

You can add anything, after, and measures also of course, in the 4th column on top you have ADD

Yes, insert more measures. They might be all squished together when they are empty, but they automatically expand as necessary when you add notes, and will take as many pages as needed. you never need to think in terms of adding pages. Just like in a word processor - you type text, the program goes to another page when it needs to.

Highlight the squished measures. Then go to the format drop bar at the top, then click stretch, then increase layout stretch over and over until it equals what came before it. It will then add a page. This worked on my PC

It works, but it's not a good idea - it leads to problems after. The measures will space them out automatically as you add notes - and then all the extra stretch you added will be having the effect of making them too wide. Add the note first, then if you decide you want system breaks or page break, add them and the spacing takes care of itself, and continues to be correct as you add more measures or change the break locations.
