Changes to the tablature configuration dialogue: comments?

• Mar 2, 2012 - 22:36

A few days ago, the Tabulature configuration dlg box was changed trying to:

1) separate a "quick mode" with just presets and a "full mode", with all the parameters; the two modes are 1 button click away one from the other, so flipping back and forth should not be a problem. The rationale behind this change is that that dlg is very crowded (and probably more parameters will be added) and this was an attempt to un-clutter it a little.

2) adding a preview box; again the largish number of parameters, sometime interconnected, seemed to require a way to visually check the effect of each. On purprose, the preview shows a fixed example rather than the staff being edited, because a) the staff in question might be not even a tabulature and b) the example should, at least in principle, contains show elements for each parameter.

Probably there are adjustments and/or improvements to do: comments on it are welcome.

Thanks,

M.

Hello, I don't know wether it is already an issue:

It would be a great thing if there was a mode in the tabulature configuration box where the direction of "note" stems in the tabulature could follow the rules of common guitar notation: If there are two independet voices in the system - wich is typical for guitar notation - stems of the bassline are all directed downwards while stems of the treble notes go upwards. If there was a mode that would make the tabulature follow these rules also, it would be perfect.

I hope this is the right place to post a suggestion such as this, pardon if not.

Best regards

R.

The are some options to change the format of fret numbers (different fonts and sizes), but I could not find an option to show fret numbers with bold print, so they are easier to read.

Thanks,

I'm not sure where to post this but can someone add a standard tuning 5 string bass TAB (BEADG) selection in the plucked strings instruments in Musescore 2.0 BETA
