Export Midi to Canta Learn to sing in tune software

• Jan 1, 2017 - 05:30

Hi,

I am trying a software called Canta Learn to sing in tune. The software supports .mid and .kar format. I have exported one of my score from muse to .mid. But there are error in open the exported file. I tried to delete the all staff but the bass staff. But this doesn't help also. The bass staff has only single note for all the timing.

"This file should contain a melody track corresponding to what you want to sing. This track must be monophonic, ie a single note can be played at the same time. If no mono track is found, the file is rejected, and an error message appears on your screen."

I got this from Canta's help website. But doesn't understand it. Mind if someone help me to simplify this?

In some MIDI files, the melody is mixed with the accompaniment, in this case it is impossible to use it in Canta.
Before you export as MIDI open Instrument and delete unnecessary stave.
The conflict seems generated by corresponding information on different channels.
Though only an idea

Your file has several voices for tenor part (in some measures) and for bass part. Canta can load only parts with a single voice. You need to remove extra notes from either tenor or bass (whatever you want to sing), so it is not ambiguous for Canta which note you want to sing. For example: Tenor in measure 21, 22, 46, 47, 65, 66, etc... has 2 voices, Bass in measure 66...
