Remove dots from D.S. and save as default
I prefer to show my Dal Segno as "DS" rather than "D.S.". The latter is an antiquated standard IMO -- like the dots in "U.S.A." as opposed to the simple "USA." We're all familiar with acronyms these days and "DS" just looks more modern to me.
So, yes, I know I can edit the D.S. when I enter it, but I want "DS" to be the default. How can I make it so? Is it possible?

Ctrl+Drag a modified 'DS' in the palette.

HildeK, I don't see a way to do that. When I Ctrl-Drag a modified "DS," it just moves it around on the page -- it doesn't enter the palette.
I also don't see a way to directly modify what appears in the palette. If I Ctrl-click on it, a small pop-up allows me to edit the name, but that has no effect on either what appears in the palette, nor what appears on the page.

Check it out, it works for me using Ctrl+Shift before clicking on the element.

Okay, you're right - my memory deceived me. Sorry!
It's Shift+Ctrl+Drag.

Oh yeah! Actually, on a Mac it's Shift+Cmd+Drag. Shft-Ctrl constrains the drag to vertical only. Anyway, thanks!!!
