Attaching items (e.g. chord symbols) to notes - behavior has changed?

If I'm not mistaken, in previous versions of musescore, when you associated a note with certain items like chord symbols, that was it. You could then move the chord symbol around and it remained associated not matter how far you dragged it. Now it seems that if you drag it very far, the association will "jump" to the nearest alternative note. It's really irritating.

Is there any way to get it not to do this?
