The issue is not with MuseScore per se, but rather the sound font. Trills us a short part of the beginning of the sample and the attack on the cello is rather soft, so trills end up being soft. If you change the instrument to the viola there is far less sound drop off on the same note, which is BTW the lowest sting on the viola in your sample. I've attached it.

In the future, do not assign yourself to an issue; it is meant for the contributor that will provide a fix/implementation for it.
