Changing pitch is slow (notes playing for too long)
When changing pitch with the up and down arrows, the program basically stalls for a certain amount of milliseconds. (It sounds like about a quarter note in my 135bps piece.) So when I press up 4 times, it doesn't quickly move up 4 half steps but plays out every single pitch. This is quite annoying if you're trying to edit a bunch of notes.
I've tried changing the default duration in the preferences but this doesn't change it. (As it shouldn't, the note should stop playing as soon as I press the up or down arrow again.)
This started happening for me in v1.2, but it doesn't always happen so I'm not sure what's going on here.
Please help!! Thanks.

1) Do you have the "Play notes while editing" option in "Edit | Preferences | Note Entry" turned on? If yes, try to turn it off and check if the delay is still there (if it does not, we know it has to do with edit playback).
2) Is you score longish? (the longer the score, the slowest any editing)
3) Does this delay show up also when adding new notes (opposed to editing notes already there) ?

In reply to 1) Do you have the "Play by Miwarre
1) It was on, I turned it off and the delay is still there.
2) It's 133 bars, 5 staves.
3) I noticed it does, as well as when I'm pasting copied notes.

I sometimes see symptoms like this but they always go away if I restart MuseScore.

2) The score is not that long: on a recent PC there should be no visible delay.
3) As far as I know there is no playback for pasting, so I assume this delay has not to do with playback, but rather with the reformatting and re-laying out after a change. Either that particular score is overly complex or something went awry with it.
Do this happen for all your scores or only one (or a few)?
Do Marc's suggestion to restart MuseScore have any effect?

2) I'm on a year old MacBook Pro so I think I should be fine.
3) I agree it doesn't seem to be a playback issue.
Restarting MuseScore doesn't do anything for me.
I've been trying a few different scores and the delay seems to correlate to the length of the piece. No delay in a short piece, barely noticeable in a medium piece (32 bars, 4 staves) and a quite noticeable in a couple full 100+ bars, 5 staves pop songs. So maybe it's a performance issue after all?

I checked out my activity monitor and editing one single note up and down does max out the CPU usage of MuseScore to over 100%.
