Discussion: I think sometimes when I make a change in the trunk, stretch changes unwarrantedly - I can't reproduce with this example, however. Perhaps it could help towards finding out the problem in 1.2 code and fix it altogether in the trunk.
Using MuseScore 1.2 - Mac 10.7.3.

I'm not sure this is literally stretch changing - if it were just that, I don't think you'd see any visible effect until it changed so much that more or fewer measures fit in a system. But yes, something is certainly shifting slightly. I see this pretty often in 1.2 where immediately upon score load I see one thing but then the first thing I click, things shift slightly, but I've never really given it much though. This test case is as good an example of the effect as I've seen, but I have seen things shift by greater amounts.
As a less subtle example, try loading "AllDudes" from the demo folder, noticing how crowded the first notes are against the opening repeat, then hit "." (or really, just about anything) and watch things shift into more comfortable positions.
I'm thinking the position *after* the shift is probably the correct position, and the real bug is that positions are not completely correct until the first redraw.
