but opened in Nightly 2.0 revision 8c5101a. The triplet in bar 31 was displaying incorrectly and random bar lines appeared in between bars 31 and 32. I believe this can be caused by cutting and pasting an incomplete triplet. I copied the notes to another file, deleted bar 31, and the random bar lines disappeared. I inserted a new bar, copied back the original notes without the triplet and retyped the triplet. I saved the file but this will not now open in 1.2. I saved it as .xml which will open in 1.2 resaved it as .mscz and I have attached this file.

Search the forum for other occurrences of this bug. You might find a better solution and check whether the bug has been corrected in 2.0. No more bug fixes are being done on 1.2.

I believe the safest way to copy and paste a triplet is to select the whole bar by clicking in a blank spot, and not by selecting the first note and shift arrowing to the end.

Let me know if you need me to fix the second file.

I've just noticed the original extensions were mscx. Did you save them that way for a reason?

I'm very glad you could repaired this file because i lost it earlier too and needed to make it again. I copied all bar- i remember- but i don't know. Why couldn't open this file after the repair 1.2, what do you thing? When will be downloadable 2.0? All file is mscx what i saved from 1.2 but sometime mscz..Which is the better?

I hope you didn't lose any vital information by my converting it to xml and then back to MuseScore.

Here's a link to information about file formats:

http://musescore.org/en/handbook/file-format

I thought the mscz was the default and preferred type and you had to choose another format on purpose. I don't know if that was the problem though.

At the moment 2.0 is for testing only. You can test nightly releases yourself but you should not rely on it for serious work. Always keep backups safe. Files saved in 2.0 are not backward compatible with 1.2. I don't know if this will be an option in the finished version. There is no date yet for release of 2.0.

Do you remember if you cut and pasted an incomplete triplet causing the bar line bug?

This file is OK to me.Nothing lost .
I will save more than one format. Backup file was so far too, but i can't open the last one, although the last one is earlier than happend the mistake. I tried to do the triplet at the last time several manner, but i don't remember that copied part of triplet.
I prefer this program, because very easy, and comfortable. My children are musicians and they need to do this things. I want to help to them only. So i will download 2.0 too.
Do you develop this software?
Best Regards! Tamas Tiborcz

No, I'm not a developer, just a musician and keen user of the software. I read the forums and pick up tips to help others. Don't rely on 2.0 until the full release. I just had the idea that 2.0 might handle the errors better then 1.2.

Stick to 1.2 for real work. Save regularly and backup often to another directory or backup disc.

Feel free to ask for technical or musical help but read the handbook, watch the videos on the Home page, Youtube and www.musescoretips.com and search the forum to see if someone has already answered a similar question.
