Musescore interperting minim as two tied crotchets

• Jul 3, 2025 - 22:03

Hi Folks,

This may be an aspect of notation I'm just not familiar with but I am noticing that in my 6/8 score Muse Score sometimes will automatically convert a minim I place into a tied note, and more strangely will put the next note in the next bar. I can over come this by pasting a bar with the correct notes in over it but it's definitely frustrating. Happy to hear it's a bug that can be addressed or equally that I just missed something more fundamental but would love and guidance possible, I've attached a screen shot of the score for reference:

I believe in writing this post I saw my error, this can be ignored, unless someone can advise how to delete a forum post!

I can do that but it's terribly embarrassing as it was actually my brain refusing to see two quavers instead of two crotchets preceding then notes. It really took me posting on the forum to reailse it was my maths that were wrong!

I'll leave the post up as a reminder in any case!
