Changing note duration through MIDI keyboard

• Jul 18, 2012 - 00:33

I recently bought a MIDI keyboard to make note entry more efficient. However, there's nothing efficient about going back and forth between the MIDI and my laptop all the time, especially to change note duration. If that's the case I think I'll return the hunk of plastic and just stay with the laptop.

Is there any way to map a button from the MIDI keyboard to change note duration?

This would help tremendously,

Thank you.

I'm not taking "no" for an answer, not yet at least. Can any key on a MIDI be mapped to do anything that isn't prepacked with Musescore?

To fill you in here, if I can get the MIDI keyboard to do ANYTHING, I can always use Autohotkeys to do the rest.

So......?

I guess what you need is a program to listen for MIDI events and when a particular event is received - maybe a very high or low note, to send keystroke events to Musescore. I am not a Windows programmer but I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to create a utility to do this?
