Starting a Chores
I am finding it difficult Starting a Chores to get my bar correct, I am coping it from a poor copy into MuseScore. The tune is I'm a Child of the King. its in 3/4. I am attaching the original part and my attempt at getting it correct.
O! what am I doing wrong on this?

Change the dotted minim in the previous bar to a minim then you'll have room to put the dotted quaver "I'm" on the third beat. You've also dotted the semiquaver "the", so remove the dot and it will fit in the same bar. Select the dotted quaver by clicking on it once, then double click the double thin bar line in the Palette. It will be inserted before the dotted quaver. You will need to repeat this in the bass stave.
Post the file and I'll edit it for you if you have trouble.
Best wishes

Wena,
I do not know if I understand your problem correctly but in measure 16 select it, then right click and
in 'measure properties' adjust the 'actual duration' to the desired one.
Joe.
Enter the notes without the double barline (minim, dotted quaver, semi0quaver), click on the dotted quaver to select it and then double-click on the double barline from the palette which will place it before the selected note.
Alternatively, make the measure with the minim a 2/4 bar (right-click, measure properties, actual 2/4), insert a line break and start the chorus in a new line with a 1/4 bar.
BTW, B-natural in bar 21 doesn't sound right?

Thank you all and you underquark I'm a very new user of MuseScore and music. I am attempting to learn, I suppose in the vrey hard way. But learning by doing is the best way, that is if I get over the hurdles.
I have said on another thread that I have some 600 Welsh, Salvation Army hymns, some of the tunes are only available in S0-fa music sheets that is the greatest hurdle I have. There seems to be so few people, even in Wales that understand that.
So my project with this score of "I'm a Child of the King" is two fold, It is that I know the KiNG as my Savior and learning to use MuseScore at the same time.

underquark I am a novice at all this, you say change this and use that and the other but I don't even know how to do that so I need a step by step help.
I am reading everything I can find on this subject.
I am indeed grateful for all your help.
