doubling instruments - transposition change
I have written a few big band arrangements, and if an instrument needs to change to a double in another key, that presents a problem with the current version. Not knowing how complex a request this is, can instruments be changed on a staff and different transpositions be accommodated?
In one arrangement, I used a workaround of transposing flutes down to make the transposed parts correct. So the score was wrong, but the transposed part was correct.

For now, you basically need two staves to accomplish this if you want playback to be correct. A few different ways of going about it in that case, but there is nothing automatic. I find it best to just have two staves where one *looks* right and the other *plays* right, and then mark one mute and the other invisible.
For 3.0 this will work as expected. Probably not for 2.1. It introduces a change that means scores might behave differently between 2.0 and 2.1. But, the behavior on 2.0 is pretty buggy - it's not just that the transposition change isn't honored, it's actually honored incorrectly and inconsistently. So in principle it would be nice to fix for 2.1. Unfortunately, the way the fix works it might not be straightforward to include.
