[Closed] Accent/Sforzato having an impact on playback?

• Aug 11, 2012 - 19:07

Right now - as far as I can discern - accents have no influence on the playback; there's a "MIDI action" box under "Articulation Properties", of course, but I can't enter anything in it, and when I check the box, close it, and reopen it, it's been deselected again.

Are they not supposed to make any noise (in which I case I would make that a rather pressing feature request)?

Or are they supposed to and I'm doing something wrong/it's borked?

Accent playback was not implemented in 1.2, but already has been for the eventual 2.0 release.

Do note, though, that as for the "pressing" nature of such requests, that there is a very clear direction stated for MuseScore: notation comes first, playback second. Details of playback for various markings are nice to have and are slowly but surely being added and improved, but they are definitely low on the priority list compared to notation feature. Bottom line: MuseScore is a notation program that happens to provide some playback facilities, not the reverse.

Ah, alright! Thanks, that helps. :-) I'll be looking forward to that release then, and until then will just modify the velocities by hand I guess.

I had thought MuseScore's intent was the other way around. If it's mostly notation, then that makes sense, sure. No prob
