Articulation playback

Can anyone point me to instructions on how to create articulations (trills, mordants, etc.) so that they play back? Or is this something that is impossible at the moment?

"Impossible" is a strong word, but there is no direct support for this in 1.X. If you really need them to play back, easiest way is to add another staff just for playback purposes and enter the notes there. In 2.0, there will be a special Chord Articulation editor just for creating these sorts of things. I was just trying it out for the first time today and it looks interesting. I made a nice glissando and a half-decent trill. Not sure if there is a way to reuse them, though - so far, it looks like you have to create each trill anew.

At the moment (v1.2) you can have it play back only by writing out the trill in full. If playback is important and you still want the normal appearance, however, you can create the trill in a second voice and then make it invisible whilst the first voice is the one that is seen and appears if printed.
