suite

• Mar 28, 2017 - 23:13

I am working on a three part suite. I used the break command to move the score from the end of the first movement to a new page for the start of the second movement. I then used the vertical frame command to try to get a frame on the score to enter text to label the second movement. My problem is that however I enter the frame onto the score, it comes in at the bottom of the page (of the 5 line score), and I cannot get it to the top of the page where I want it. Same result with the text frame.

Help.

If the page break is on the last measure of the first part, then you need to add the frame to the first measure of the next page. That is, click the measure, double click the frame in the palette (or drag it to the measure).

If you continue to have trouble, please attach the score and describe in more detail what you are trying to do.

BTW, you probably also want to add a "section break" to the end of each part. This will restart measure numbering, suppress the courtesy key or meter change you'd otherwise see at the end of each part, etc.

Hello again, Marc - Thanks for helping.

I am attaching the last page of the first movement and the first page of the second. I tried (again)what you suggested, and the frame always comes up at the bottom. If I select the first measure of the 2nd movement, the frame is at the bottom of the first page. If I select the next measure, the frame is at the bottom of the 2nd page. I do not know how to move the frame to the top of the page so I can label the 2nd movement.
