Changing instrument size text.

• Oct 16, 2012 - 16:46

Hello...

When I print score I see that not all instrument text are of same size. I try to resize text to be same size without success. Attached is example with different size of text. (don't ask me how I got that as I don't know!) But know that I want all to be same size.
Any idea?

names are usually the same size by default, but if you tried editing the sizes after score creation, or tried adding staves after creating the score and there has been any scaling or resizing along the way, you cam get into situations like this. there is also a bug in some versions where a flat sign in the instrument name prevents thing from sizing properly.

Anyhow, the solution is to bring ip staff properties, erase all the characters in the name, and retype it. this will force the setting in your instrument name text style to be reapplied. in this ase, the size in your text style is actually quite large, so doing this will result in both staff names becoming much larger, but the same, at least. if you want them smaller than that, change the instrument name text styles first.

I'm having the same problem. I've made a small score for elementary string orchestra. Two of my staves have instrument names in small text size. I've tried all the fixes I've been able to find so far but to no avail. Score attached. MuseScore 1.2 Mac OS 10.7.5
