lyrics
I am notating very easy piano versions of popular songs. I am dividing the melody between the left and right hand and would like to have the lyrics in the center and can't figure out how to do it without moving each syllable separately. When I do that, random hyphens are left behind.

Right-click on a syllable -> Select All Similar elements -> Adjust with Inspector (F8)

I assume you mean you want the lyrics vertically centered between the staves, not horizontally centered under each note? If so, the easiest way is to change the lyric margins and/or grand staff distance in Style / General / Page. That way it will affect all lyrics automatically, including syllables you haven't entered yet.
