Breath

• Apr 6, 2017 - 08:16

Hello everyone.
By placing the sign of breath, listening again the song the breath is ignored: there is no small detachment in the performance. Curiously, however, if I download a score of musescore.com, then I copy the breath and I insert it into my music, the detachment feels. With the F8 inspector both symbols appear the same but one works and the other does not. Use musescore 2:03 and the same problem exists on both Linux platform, both Windows.
Suggestions? Thank you

The breath mark has a silence duration in the inspector in 2.1. Apparently changing the silence duration in 2.1 affects playback in 2.0.3. I didn't think it would do that.

In 2.0 breath marks had that property too (and defaulted to 0), but no UI to change it. 2.1 now has that (or will have once officially released), taken from https://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/release-notes/release-note…
Enable inspector for all breath/caesura types

So the suggestion the OP asked for is to use a 2.1 nightly build (it should be pretty stable, in contrast to the master builds), you'd get them from https://musescore.org/en/download#Nightly-versions
