I need more space between notes
I have issues with my eyesight, which is why I wanted to use this software to try to reproduce some of my music in a form I can read more easily than the printed pages.
I want to space the notes out more, but when I go past 2.0 on Style --> Edit General Style --> Measure: Spacing, the staves also get farther apart. I don't want that. I just want the notes spread out more.

Posting the score you are having problems with would help. My guess is, the reason the staves get further apart is that as you space out the notes more, they take up more systems, and at some point, you cross the Page Fill Threshold (style / edit general style / page) so MuseScore automatically stretches the systems out to fill the page. Turn up that threshold and this won't happen.
Also, note you can can also control spacing between notes by selecting a passage (or select all) and hitting "{" and "}", which are the shortcuts for add less/more stretch. I think this basically functions as an override to the setting you are currently playing with.
Or, simply place line breaks where you want (click barline, hit enter), and MuseScore will automatically space the notes out within the line.
